Now if I wanted to do custom stuff, writing scripts to poll all kinds of random things, etc., I understand I'd have to invest some time figuring that out. Why can't I just turn that on? Sorry, I don't mean to sound like a bozo, but this should be so easy, I don't understand why it requires more thank just selecting an item from a pulldown list that has been auto populated based on the data that is available on that host.

All I want to do is monitor disk space on a standard linux server. I've seen plenty of monitoring setups that included disk space-it's pretty fundamental-so I must just be not understanding the steps necessary to add the monitor when it does not appear in this list. I want to monitor disk space on the servers. So that list does not include anything about disk space. Having created a device, from the edit device screen, when I click on the drop down menu for Add Graph Template:, my choices are: I restarted snmp service on the host to get that change to take effect. On the host, I edited nf to create a ro community that my cacti server is allowed access to. I have set SNMP Version for the host to 1. I chose ucd/net SNMP Host as the Host Template because that choice caused at least some of the desired monitoring graphs to appear. I am monitoring SuSE Linux Enterprise Servers v10. I am running a virtual machine instance of cacti on gentoo linux, cacti Version 0.8.6j.

Let me back up and provide more precise information.
